What is the Glossop Business Network?
Launched three and a half years ago in June 2006 byBarbara Hastings-Asatourian of Contraception Education and Kathy Ford of the Solutions Agency, who through setting up their own businesses realised the value of networking.

Glossop Business Network helps businesses to meet together in a relaxed environment to exchange information, hand out promotional materials and learn more about each others' services.

What's different about the Glossop Business Network?
There are networks outside Glossop, but for people working or doing business in Glossop, it is not always easy to travel to them. We set up this network to be convenient for Glossop, efficient, (because the networks take place when we wouldn't otherwise be working) and really inexpensive no annual membership fees, and half the price of many other networking events, coming to GBN can mean you save up to £20 compared to other Breakfast Clubs.

Thanks to First Impression, who have supported us since we began, we use EMail Shot to send out a monthly newsletter with special offers and requests for help from Glossop businesses. We are also very grateful to Helen and Martin Duncan for hosting our Glossop Business Network Lunches from September 2009 at the newly refurbished Glossop Business Centre on High Street West, opposite the Grapes.

Glossop is the home of many businesses who can help each other. At our meetings businesses get an opportunity to network informally, then, if we choose, to stand up and present our business in a one minute "commercial". Outside speakers also inform of important issues like taxation, funding, Fair Trade, Police support to local businesses (e.g. GRIP), the work of local community groups and much more.

How often and where do we meet?
Twice a month. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month for breakfast at at Glossopdale 6th Form Centre, Talbot House, Talbot Road, Glossop and once a month on the third Friday at lunchtime at Glossop Business Centre, High Street West Glossop, with an excellent buffet from Gameseley Community Cafe.

How much does the Glossop Business Network cost? £10.00 at breakfast time and £15 at lunchtime. NO other fees
